What's Normal? There's no such thing as a normal human being!

Just as we are factory producing food, we are trying to factory produce human beings. We factory farm ourselves. What kind of society have we created where WE are on a production line?

What is more important - a beautiful face or a beautiful heart?

While outer beauty may turn heads at first, it is easily forgotten when the true nature is revealed. Inner beauty will be remembered. Our relationships with others will be what is cherished.

"The important thing is not how one looks, but how you are able to connect to the people and the world around you." - Jenny Jackson

“Families are so complicated, aren’t they?” - Jenny Jackson

Family is where we learn to push boundaries, push buttons, argue and defend. We see each other in our most vulnerable, angry and heartbroken moments. We grow up and figure out who we are in the midst of our family. But we often forget that they are also just people who are figuring it out for themselves. We each come to the table with our own baggage and expectations.

And while we won’t always see eye to eye, we have a say in the way we treat each other and the way we react to one another’s individuality and idiosyncrasies. Family is also where we learn to accept, to apologise, to let go and move forward. And through it all we create a bond of shared history, and also a sense of unconditional support and forgiveness.

This is the third story that we've filmed with Jenny. To watch the previous two films, see links below:
All Cats Are Black - https://youtu.be/dK2km_x9-as
"Love, Mummy" - https://youtu.be/miLs1AfMrIY

I recently read…

“Youth is not a time of life; it is a state of mind; it is not a matter of rosy cheeks, red lips and supple knees; it is a matter of the will, a quality of the imagination, a vigor of the emotions; it is the freshness of the deep springs of life. Years may wrinkle the skin, but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul.” - Samuel Ullman

We all age - it is the normal process of living. But rather than being apprehensive about our aging bodies, let’s celebrate our growing perspective. Rather than worrying about our changing relationships, let’s embrace the opportunity to make new friends with people who share our interests. We must never lose the desire to do the things we truly love, because it is the saying 'no' to life that ages us. It's not about ageing. It's about living.

Grounded in REALNESS
Grounded in REALNESS BUZZBOX 32 Views • 3 years ago

All too often life can feel like a competition to see who is the busiest. Our lives are filled with rushing, stress, anxiety and exhaustion. Being overworked has become a marker of success, and it’s difficult to resist getting caught up in the wave. We're less in tune with our bodies and minds and there's little time left over to simply 'be'.

We don’t need to live life at breakneck speed. There is so much joy and wonder surrounding us in our daily lives - we just need to stop and take time to notice it. And it’s then that we realise that beauty truly is everywhere.

BE LIKE WATER - We Are All Collectively Living Through Uncharted Times - Cathy Winter
BE LIKE WATER - We Are All Collectively Living Through Uncharted Times - Cathy Winter BUZZBOX 55 Views • 3 years ago

This pandemic hasn't been easy for any of us. It has been terrifying and exhausting. It has been a time defined by loss – of freedom, opportunities and lives. And the year ahead will continue to be difficult to navigate. The world around us is in crisis and we’re trying to hold onto everything that helps us make sense of what has hit us. We have lost the feeling of certainty that gives us a sense of safe belonging in this world.

We are all collectively living through uncharted times, and this is when we need people to lean on. We need to find ways to be there for each other, to help each other through. If there is any silver lining to be found, it has been rediscovering our collective capacity for compassion.

YOU are BEAUTIFUL
YOU are BEAUTIFUL Greg McEwan-Marriott 37 Views • 3 years ago

When we talk about gestures of love, the most common ones we think of are hugs, kisses, or simply the words, “I love you”. But not everyone expresses love in the same way. And often, cooking a good meal for someone is an important gesture of love.

We cook with our hearts as much as with our hands, because when we cook for other people, it's to make them happy and content. And possibly the greatest payment that you could receive for your efforts is seeing the people at the table, enjoying what you’ve prepared for them.

So the next time you sit at the table, be thankful not only for all that has been prepared for you with time and care, but also for that person who loves you, who thought about you with every stir of the spoon, with every dash of salt, with every teaspoon of oil. We should take a moment to appreciate all that they've done for us. They deserve it. And gratitude is a form of love too!

Tucked in the Black Hills of Yavapai County, Arizona, Jerome has long attracted intrepid characters. In the late 1800s, prospectors descended on the historic town looking to capitalize on its rich copper mines. Over a hundred years later, a different type of pioneer arrived: Maynard James Keenan. The Tool, Puscifer and A Perfect Circle frontman has carved out a uniquely anti-rock-star life in this rugged terrain, filled with winemaking, farming and community building. For two days this past July, Keenan extended a very special invitation to Revolver to join him during this summer's grape harvest. In Episode 1 of our multi-part series, he reveals how his work in Jerome helps create the friction that ignites his creativity.

The Wonderful Witch of the West - Foraging in South Africa
The Wonderful Witch of the West - Foraging in South Africa BUZZBOX 54 Views • 3 years ago

Our second episode marks our entrance into South Africa as we explore a very big, very diverse, and very beautiful country. If you follow me on Instagram @captainpotter you’re already familiar with what's in store for you here as I'm sure you've seen the "South Africa" series I made with my friends at @Corona.

I was so proud of that series and so in love with the stories we told I wanted to make what could, more or less, be considered extended versions of those films we made. So that's what you can expect from these episodes. A jam-packed adventure with all the life, laughs, and lessons I was unable to fit in the Corona series so many loved!!

In this episode, “The Wonderful Witch of the West” we explore the breathtaking lands of the Western Cape and introduce you to my dear friend Roushanna Gray, a wild food forager who’s learned how to track her edible landscape through the seasons. Together we dive through kelp forests, climb mountains, pick mushrooms, and cook up some of the most incredible meals I’ve ever had with a fantastic group of new friends and old including @ChelseaKauai and @itskoasmith

Enjoy the episode, my friends, and don't forget to like and subscribe!

All the music in this episode is by South African local @seankoch3271

Honored to have your music as the soundtrack, thank you brotha!!
